Drivers in Hillside have been praised for their swift actions and help after a pensioner was thrown from their mobility scooter.

The elderly lady who was shaken by the ordeal had been tipped out of her mobility scooter after trying to mount the pavement near to Hillside bridge.

Unfortunately the wheels of the scooter failed to mount the kerb safely and as a result her scooter toppled over, sending the woman crashing to the floor.

Two cars and passers by stopped at the scene to rush to the lady’s aid and helped her back into her chair.

She was assessed by first aiders but thankfully did not suffer any severe injuries.
