Motorist gets stuck on Southport ‘beach’ after careering over Marine Drive
Spring may be just around the corner but some eager beach goers were just a little too over excited to get on Southport‘s not so golden sands today (Friday 17 February)
A car careered over Marine drive after the drivers brakes failed on approaching the junction from Hesketh drive and came to a stop on the beach.
Fortunately no one was injured and the car was recovered from the beach/marshland.
Merseyside police attended the incident.
A tourism spokesperson said they are happy that so many people want to visit our beach but recommend alternative and more usual points of access in future.
