26th April 2021

Police are appealing for information following a fail to stop RTC in Ainsdale on Saturday 24 April.

OTS understands that a driver, who had children of their own inside the car, stopped to assess the situation after hitting the child, before driving away.

Merseyside Police said: “At around 4.45pm emergency services were called to Shore Road following reports that a three-year-old child had his foot driven over by an orange 4×4 vehicle.

“The child was taken to hospital and has suffered several broken toes to his foot.

“The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and enquiries are ongoing to identify the vehicle and driver.

“If you were in the Shore Road area and saw the incident or were passing and captured any dashcam or CCTV, please let us know via email rpiu@merseyside.police.uk, @MerPolCC on Twitter or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with reference 21000261526.”
