A motorbike rider has smashed into a bin lorry in Ainsdale. The male rider suffered potentially serious injuries after hitting a bin wagon on Heathfield Road.
Police and paramedics have closed off the road while an investigation gets underway.
The biker was treated for injuries at the scene before being rushed to Southport hospital.
The crash happened just before 12pm this afternoon. Eye witnesses say the biker lost control as he tried to avoid hitting the wagon.
