Mitch Fc Greens will be in the under 13s Craven JFL Premier League next season after being crowned  Championship title-winners on Wednesday.

“The Premier League should embrace Mitch Fc and I think they’re going to do the Premier League proud,” said the club’s Chairman, Ian Gregson.

The Greens effectively sealed their promotion with a 3-1 victory against Ormskirk Fc on Wednesday. SB Rangers Red, with automatic promotion secured last weekend took the second place. Alan Fish who manages Mitch Fc Greens said, “I didn’t think it could get any better. I came here today, like all our supporters, in a carnival atmosphere, to relax and just enjoy the rubber-stamping of it. It was incredible, and what I’m so happy about is that the boys are champions. They deserve it. I think the display today would grace any division and I think the Premier League should welcome Mitch Fc Greens and I think they’re going to do the Premier League proud.”

The Greens secured top-flight football for the first time in their history by scoring 117 goals in the Championship campaign, twenty-four more than nearest challengers SB Rangers Red, and Alan Fish said his side deserved to win the league. “I do think we deserve it,” Alan told the us. “In my opinion we have been the best team this season and led the division for the longest time. It’s fitting reward for the players; once again they were magnificent. We’ve consistently been the best team. I’m delighted the players can call themselves champions and we leave here on a real high and it’s fully justified. You can see from my track record with these guys that the guys that have performed so well will get an opportunity to perform,” he added.

“I don’t believe in wholesale changes in the close season. I don’t believe in not giving the players a chance to show whether they are good enough.

Ultimately they have to take that opportunity. We will stick with the majority of the squad from Championship.

There will be subtle changes, there will be players coming in, there will be players leaving, but the core group will remain the same. I would also like the thank our sponsors, Eighty Eight and NKL Solutions for them kind contribution to our team.”
