Merseyside Police can confirm that the body found in a house in Forest Road in Southport yesterday morning (Monday, December 3) is that of missing person Lewis James.

Lewis had last been seen by his family on November 8 and the police had been trying to trace him since concerns were raised on November 14.

His body was formally identified by his next of kin this afternoon (Tuesday, December 4).

Following extensive police enquiries, officers are satisfied that his death is not suspicious and a file has been passed to the coroner.
