A community appeal has been launched to find an Ainsdale woman who people believe has gone missing after her dog was discovered wandering the streets of the village.

The unidentified lady, who is understood to live in the Ainsdale area, is believed to be missing according to community reports online after her lurcher dog was discovered lost and alone in the village.

The owner and her dog are reportedly a familiar duo on the beaches around Ainsdale and are often sighted in the sands on long walks.

However alarm bells have now sounded after the lurcher was discovered lost and alone a number of days ago, with no sign of its owner.

A desperate attempt has been made to reunite the dog with his owner but after a week of searching, she has yet to be found.

Community groups on Facebook have gone as far as to declare the woman as ‘missing’ and have launched an appeal for any information which may lead to her whereabouts.
