Missing 9-year-old boy found safe in Southport

Merseyside Police can confirm that a missing boy has been found in Southport this morning, Friday 19 August. At around 10:00am, a report was received of a 9-year-old boy from Bootle missing from home.

Following extensive enquiries with local officers and British Transport Police, the boy was located safe and well a short time later in Southport, and was returned home.

Eastbank Street business owner Shirwan Shi found the little boy, he said: “The little boy was missing and walked into my shop. He was soaking wet. We gave him a drink and waited for police to arrive. I am glad to say the boy was fine and I trust police to return the little boy home or find him a shelter.
