Mindless vandals target trees in Waterloo Road Southport

Mindless vandals have once again been on the rampage in Southport. On Monday night (22nd October 2012) they targeted a number of trees in Waterloo Road, Birkdale.

The roadside trees, which were planted to enhance the main road into Southport and compliment works undertaken, were broken off half way down the trunk.

A local resident living in the area said she was “dismayed that anyone would wilfully damage trees that have been planted to enhance the natural beauty of our town.”She went on to say “this anti-social behaviour is totally unacceptable,”

Sefton Council have replanted a number of trees in the past following similar attacks.
