Staff at a popular Southport restaurant have been finally told they are out of a job after bosses booted them from a staff Whatsapp group and started taking signs down from the restaurant.

Chiquitos Mexican has faced a number of questions nationally in recent weeks about the future of the chain amid growing reports the firm behind it is in administration.

Now insiders at the Ocean Plaza branch have reported that they are now out of a job.

They say signage at the restaurant, which has been shut for a number of months due to Coronavirus, has been removed and when worried staff tried to ask their bosses about the rumours, they were kicked out of a staff Whatsapp group.

It’s understood the company behind Chiquitos are making an official statement tomorrow.
