Metfield Grange Grand Opening by the Mayor of Sefton

After a year’s hard work to create a Dementia friendly day centre. Metfield Grange had their Grand Opening by the Mayor of Sefton on Saturday 21st November. There were a number of activities that took place throughout the day and fun was had by all.

 

Metfield Grange Day Centre’s aim is to help people maintain independence. They do this through providing a wide range of activities such as arts & crafts, games, puzzles, computer classes, gardening and gentle exercise. These activities help with self-confidence, self-expression as well as being beneficial to a person’s physical health. There are many other activities such as reminiscence therapy, music therapy and pet therapy.

 

The day centre is open from 9-4 Monday to Friday, with the choice of full or half day sessions. A 3 course lunch and snacks and drinks are provided as well as transport to and from the day centre. A hairdresser and chiropodist regularly visit the day centre and there is also a salon were the day centre guests can enjoy getting pampered.
