MERSEYSIDE Police Operation Nemesis Drink Driving Lord Street Southport
MERSEYSIDE Police Christmas and New Year drink drive campaign, codenamed Operation Nemesis is underway.
The aim of the campaign is to decrease the number of people killed or injured on Merseyside’s roads during the festive season by means of highly visible, widespread road checks.
Police officers from the traffic department, area patrols and Special Constabulary are working together to make this year’s efforts greater than even before.
During this year’s campaign, which runs from December to January, officers will be out and about catching drink drivers so be warned.
Officers stopped a number of vehicles along Lord Street, Southport at 6:00pm tonight Wednesday 12th December 2012) and breathalysed them.
The results of the operation will be announced in January 2013.
