McDonald’s Kew forced to close due to failing modern technology

McDonald’s Kew restaurant was forced to close its doors yesterday tea time, due to computer malfunction, Friday 5 August 2016.

The new state of the art system which lets customers order food at touch screen terminals stopped working, as did the screens in the kitchen.

Staff tried to carry on serving at the counter initially, however the queues quickly got out of hand and the manager made the call to close the doors.

The drive through remained open however. One customer told OTSNews.co.uk “It was chaos, but the staff did a great job under the pressure…Most people joined the drive through queue.”

The restaurant has now reopened (Saturday 6 August).
