Man and woman injured in collision on Liverpool Road


A man and a woman were injured following a collision on the A59.

It happened last night (Friday, July 7th) at around 10:25pm when a Toyota Auris, waiting to turn right at the Liverpool Road junction with Croston Road, has been in a collision with a MG Mark 2 car travelling in the direction of Liverpool.

The Mark 2 driver, a 66 year old Aughton man suffered a facial injury and the passenger, a 67 year old also from Aughton, suffered chest and pelvic injuries. They were taken to Royal Preston Hospital where they remain.

Police are asking any witnesses to come forward.

Sgt Lee Harris from the Road Policing Unit said: “We want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened as they may have important information that could assist with our investigation.”
