Man WANTED after sexual assault

Detectives are issuing images of a man who may have information following a sexual assault earlier this month in Maghull.

Around 1.30pm on Thursday 7 November, the victim, a 19-year-old woman, boarded the Ormskirk bound train from Liverpool Central.

She left the train at Maghull North station on Goldcrest Road and was approached along a path towards Park Lane by a man who she saw had been sat on the train. The man started a conversation with her, and made inappropriate comments.

She refused to engage before the man then grabbed her hand and groped her bottom. He also made an attempt to kiss her, before he finally walked away near to Park Lane.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Jamie Dean said: “We think the man pictured may hold vital information to assist our enquiries. If you recognise him, let us know.

“This was an troubling incident which left a young woman understandably distressed and fearful of walking home. We are determined to find the person responsible and remove them from the streets, and I can assure people locally that we will take positive action on what you tell us.”
