    Man sustains head injuries after falling from electronic wheelchair on Lord Street

    A man fell from his electronic wheelchair and sustained a head injury at around 10:45am this morning, Tuesday 19 April 2016.

    Emergency service were called to Lord Street to a man lying in the road. A witness said: “The man had fallen forward and into oncoming traffic.

    “Fortunately there was a number of people around to direct traffic around the scene and keep the man stable until paramedics arrived”.

    The man was treated at the scene then taken to Southport Hospital, his condition is known at the present time.
