Man sought after woman, 29, found injured in Preston

Officers investigating how a woman came to be injured in Preston are appealing for witnesses. 

At around 12:50am on Monday 9 November, the 29-year-old victim had been drinking on Church Street when she has walked towards the railway station with a man she had just met.

Minutes later she was found injured on the pavement on Butler Street near to Preston Railway Station by a passer-by. She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a fractured eye socket and significant bruising. She has since been released.

Detectives are trying to piece together exactly what happened to the woman and how she came to be hurt.

DC Simon Lochhead of Preston CID said: “The woman has suffered a serious injury to her eye and her body and is extremely shaken up.

“We are keen to trace the man pictured who we believe was with the victim minutes before. It may be that he has some vital information that could help us with our inquiries.

“We would urge anyone who recognises him or has any information that could assist us to come forward.”

The man is described as white, around 40 to 50 years old, medium build, short hair and was wearing a black coat, blue jeans and shiny white trainers. It is thought that he is local to Preston.
