A Southport man has been reunited with his dog after it was found miles away from home in a Scarisbrick garden.
The puppy was found shivering and scared by residents in a Smithy Lane garden in Scarisbrick.
Earlier in the evening the dog’s owner posted a desperate appeal to help find his dog after it had been allegedly taken from his house without permission by a person known to him.
A subsequent Facebook appeal was launched and online detectives managed to link the appeal to the pup’s discovery on a local community Facebook group in neighbouring West Lancashire.
The dog has now been safely reunited and is being cared for.
