Man denies trying to murder woman in Southport

A southport man who tried to kill himself after allegedly attempting to murder his girlfriend has denied trying to end her life. Ryan Quigley, 22 pleaded guilty to wounding with intent but denied attempting to murder her.

The incident involved an attack on the 19-year-old on Marine Way bridge earlier this year. His trial will begin later this year.
