Merseyside Police can confirm a man has been charged following an incident in Crosby on Thursday,14 March.
Temesgen Habtemariam Desta, 31, of no fixed abode has been charged with false imprisonment with intention of committing a relevant sexual offence.
He has also been charged with rape in relation to an offence in Birmingham.
Desta will appear at Birmingham Magistrates court at 10am tomorrow, Monday, 25 March.
