Man arrested for fishing offences in Hesketh Park

Following a rise in complaints regarding illegal fishing, drunkeness and anti-social behaviour in Hesketh Park, Southport’s Local Policing Team including the Wildlife and Rural Officers have increased patrols in the area.
A 48 year old male has been Arrested and Summonsed for Theft and Rod Licence offences after having been warned on two previous occasions by Officers.
The male’s fishing rod and tackle have also been seized, the male was warned about his anti social behaviour and abuse towards park rangers and landscape staff from Sefton MBC on previous occasions.
A Criminal Behaviour Order will also be applied for to prevent any further offences in Southport Parks.
