Man, 81, dies following collision in Leyland

A man has sadly died following a collision in Leyland.

The incident happened on Leyland Way at shortly before 5pm on Wednesday 11 November when a Volkswagen van was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Up. The van then mounted the grass verge before colliding with a lamp post.

The driver of the van, who can be named as 81 year old David Hardman from Preston, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

PS James Power from the Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident in which a man has sadly died and my thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Hardman. We are still trying to establish how this collision occurred and if anyone has any information that could assist with our enquiries then please contact us.”
