Recovery crews are desperately battling to save a huge articulated lorry after it skidded into a ditch in Scarisbrick (Tuesday 14 November 2017).
The driver of the lorry lost control and skidded off the road on Delph Lane on a slippery bend before crashing into a ditch and demolishing a road sign.
Recovery crews and emergency services are on scene tying to pull the lorry out of the ditch in a delicate operation expected to take a few hours.
The driver has been assessed by paramedics and is believed to be being treated for minor shock.
An investigation into the cause is now underway.
