Lord Street Gardens Southport PLEASE SUPPORT THIS CAUSE!
Local resident, Pauline Morris is starting her volunteer gardening from today (Tuesday 5th March 2013) on Lord Street, Southport.
Pauline said:”I am looking for lots of helpers as Lord Street is in desperate need of cutting back, all the beds need tending.
The council cut backs have been severe and the parks and gardens team have suffered.
We need budding gardeners of any age to come forward and give their time to make our towns gardens look great!
When I planted up the large stone urns on Lord Street last year lots of residents stopped and praised me for my efforts some even offered money to buy more plants, I refused their generosity as all the plants were donated by Sootys Plants for free.
I started to volunteer in the gardens last September, B&Q & Dobbies both got behind me and donated free compost and plants. What I need now is volunteers and lots of them!
