Lord Street flooded as drivers brave dangerous roundabout

2nd November 2021

A main roundabout which sees thousands of cars a day use it on Lord Street is under water.

The Lord Street West roundabout is severely flooded this morning (Tuesday) after 48 hours of almost continuous heavy rain.

It’s understood the storm drains along Lord Street West and Duke Street couldn’t cope with a constant deluge of rainwater and have reached capacity.

Sefton Council and United Utilities have been informed but it’s thought it could take hours for the water to subside.

Motorists are warning their fellow drivers to avoid the roundabout and find a different route in and out of the town centre.
