Lifeboat crews stretched to the limit during bank holiday scorcher

It has been a busy bank holiday weekend for the Southport Lifeboat crew. On Sunday Quads and ILB were paged to help search for a missing child at Ainsdale beach.

A spokesperson for Southport Offshore Rescue Trust said:

“Today our Quads and ILB were called again so four people cut off by the tide at Ainsdale, on arrival the casualties had been helped out of the sea by the beach lifeguards. Whilst at Ainsdale, the crew helped a number of other people from getting cut off by the rising tide.

On returning to station to wash off, the quads were tasked again to search for missing children at Southport, and were called out again to assist two boys from the mud at Southport and aid two swimmers.
