Letter to the editor: Council should stop pavement parkers

Disabled residents have said more still needs to be done to target pavement parkers.

In a letter to OTS one resident who didn’t want to be named said “It seems residents who drive over raised kerbs to park on their driveways are breaking the law.

Is this not double standards?

One can barely walk along the pavement on some streets in Birkdale because of people leaving their cars half parked on sidewalks where they leave the cars to get the train to work or go shopping.

Those with buggys and mobility walkers and others have to walk in the road.
Why is nothing done to deter this indiscriminate parking.

It is not only illegal but damaging the side- walks which then has to be funded by our Council Tax.”
