WORLD champion fighter Kev Ward will return to his hometown of Southport next month for what is being billed as the biggest ever display of fighting and boxing the town has ever seen.
Kev, the current International Sports Karate Association World Champion belt holder, will take on Ireland’s Aiden Brooks in a headline showdown as part of the ‘Elite Fisticuffs and Cufflinks’ event at Southport Theatre on December 2.

Fisticuffs and Cufflinks, the boxing brainchild of local DJ Baz Todd, has been held in the resort for the past few years, will team up with the Elite Fighting Championships event hosted by fellow Sandgrounder Jay Barton for the amalgamated event with the duo promising that it will be the ultimate combination of ‘black eyes and black ties.’

Baz says: “This event has already secured white collar boxing bouts with some of Southport’s biggest names.

“We have A-Class Thai bouts and the five time current World Champion Kev Ward will defend his ISKA World Championship belt against Irelands finest Aiden Brooks.

“The last time this pair met was in the ring at Wembley Arena in 2015, Ward was triumphant then and looks to be once again come Friday 2nd December at Southport Theatre & Convention Centre.

“Kev Ward hasn’t fought in his hometown since winning one of his many world titles back in 2013, so for him to be back on home soil is truly an honour.

“This will be a must see co-promotion for fight fans & Christmas nights out involving Southport personalities, the countries finest fighters, and the worlds best K1 champion.”
