lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender’s invited to support evening

21st September 2017
Sefton’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) residents are being invited to a new monthly social and support evening which is being launched later this week.

The first event will take place at the Kindfulness Coffee Club at 158 Knowsley Road in Bootle from 7pm to 8.30pm this coming Thursday, 28th September.

The event is being organised by Embrace, one of a number of equalities networks run by community support specialists, Sefton CVS.

As well as organising events and providing support, Embrace acts as a consultation mechanism. liaising with decision makers in the borough on matters that affect the borough’s LGBT residents.

Organisers of the new event hope that it will attract a lot of interest. Embrace Co-Chair Rach O’Brien commented: “All lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who live, work or play in Sefton are welcome to come along.

“It will be a great opportunity to meet new like-minded members of the LGBT community, and to access information, advice or support on LGBT issues.”

Her Co-Chair, Dr Mike Homfray, added: “The event will also give guests the chance to find out more about what the Embrace network does, and if they wish to get involved in its work in the future.”
