Left-wing brexit insult and Corbyn marked as “False Messiah”

Labour fears ‘catastrophic’ vote loss to Lib Dems and Greens unless it also goes ‘against’ the original majority LEAVE vote result.

Tom Watson, (Labour’s Deputy Leader) has expressed fears to MPs that an analysis of the party’s losses in recent local and European elections that was presented to the shadow cabinet last week, precariously miscalculated the crisis it will face if it fails to back another Brexit referendum. In a briefing paper distributed to more than 100 Labour MPs and peers recently, Watson said that sections of the analysis leaked to the media have “skewed” understanding of the party’s plight. He warns that if Labour does not face the actual lessons and become a Remain party, it risks electoral disaster.

Ken Livingstone has also called for similar.

Then again, the party still has the antisemitism crisis to face. Labour is currently under investigation by the Equality and Human Rights Commission over claims of antisemitism.

Corbyn branded as a “false messiah”

Jeremy Corbyn has come under fire over his handling of anti-Semitism claims within Labour by one of the UK’s most senior Jewish figures. Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner, a lifelong Labour supporter and one of the UK’s most respected Jewish voices, described him as a “false messiah” with a “cult” following.

She added: “Having been at Labour Party conference, I think there is a cult around him whereby he is seen as all the answers to all the problems.”

Labour said that the rabbi’s remarks as “false and offensive”.
