Lancaster Road Deaf School – Cllr David Barton

3rd October 2015

Councillor David Barton has welcomed the decision to refuse planning permission on the site of the former deaf school at Lancaster Road. Cllr Barton has been a long-time opponent of the development plans that were in place to build on this site.

Cllr Barton contributed to the hearing arguing against the plans and ensured his constituents’ wishes were heard.

Cllr Barton said: “I am delighted the Planning Inspectorate has decided to reject these plans. No one in the area I spoke to was in favour of them and I am pleased that my constituents have got the result they want with this outcome.”
