Otsnews spoke with Jeff Carter today (Friends of Real Lancashire) and he said
“I wish to thank all who supported Lancashire Day 2014 by staging and supporting local events and those who kindly donated raffle prizes which helped raise funds for charity. The friends of Botanic Gardens,Don Evans,The West Lancashire Town Crier, Inn Beer Shop, Tap & Bottles, Guest House, Baron’s Bar, Hop Vine, Ship Inn, Hop Inn Bier Shoppe, The Cricketers, Homestead Farm Shop/Restaurant and Fiddler’s Lancashire Crisps all did Lancashire proud by reminding people that Southport and Liverpool are still part of historic Lancashire.
It is also great news that Lancashire County Cricket Club will be returning to Southport and Liverpool for county championship cricket matches during the 2015 season, Special thanks to the young Lancashire lass Iona Locke-Edwards from Hesketh Bank, a student at Dominique Fuentes, School of Speech & Drama in Southport, who superbly read The Lancashire Day Proclamation and recited a monologue during the celebrations at the Inn Beer Shop”.
