Campaigners, residents and councillors gathered to shout the message loud and clear: “One Vision, Wrong Decision…!”
The weather stayed fine as the people arrived to protest against One Vision Housing’s (OVH) obscene plan to destroy Kitty’s Wood in George Drive, Ainsdale.
As the afternoon progressed, more and more supporters turned up from all over the region.
Labour’s Ainsdale Candidate, Mhairi Doyle MBE, (left) with Liz Savage, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for Southport, arrived to show support for the protest against OVH and Sefton Council.
Cross-party support for the fight. Ainsdale’s LibDem councillor, Lynne Thompson (right) discussing the woodland campaign to save the woods with the local Labour candidates.
Thumbs up for a great day from Paddy.
Marcia with friend dropped in for support.
More hairy support from Nick and his trusty canine pal.
George Drive’s oldest resident is Mrs Dean. She celebrated her anniversary of being the longest standing resident of the Drive in style, during the Protest Rally for Kitty’s Wood, Ainsdale in Southport.
Mrs Dean has lived in George Drive for 64 years. What a nice way to celebrate her special occasion.

The fight against OVH oppression continues and will do so for as long as it takes for them to see sense!
Bat boxes (erected some 5 years ago) in George Drive woods. OVH and Sefton Council (who are well aware that legally-protected bats do use the woods) need to get it through their thick heads that breaking wildlife laws is NOT an option.
