KGV teams up with rugby coach to bolster sports academy

KGV sixth form college have partnered up with Southport Rugby Union Club.

The partnership means that head coach of the club, Neil Ryan, who also coaches the Lancashire U20 team, will be coaching students at the Scarisbrick New Road site as part of the college’s Sports Academy Programme.

The Sports Academy is pitched at students who are studying a varied advanced level programme at the college, but also still want to play the sports they enjoyed at school as extra curriculum activities.

As well as rugby the Sports Academy also offers football, badminton, netball and basketball.
