Last week KGV College opened its doors to the new students of 2013! First Years attended one of two Welcome Days during which they met both their new class mates and KGV staff whilst exploring the college campus.

New students also had the chance to attend the annual college Freshers’ Fair, where they were able to sign up to a wide range of enrichment activities. Charity Reps raised money for Cancer Research with their Hook a Duck, Win a Prize challenge and by selling popcorn to hungry students, whilst KGV Sports staff and Sports Makers challenged Freshers’ to a table tennis match. Even Adele Wills, KGV Principal, couldn’t resist getting involved in a ping pong rally!! A number of external organisations also attended the Fair including World Challenge, Youth Community and Dunes Fitness.

Overall, the Welcome Days were a huge success and an enjoyable event for students and staff alike! Adele Wills commented, ‘It’s wonderful to have students back after the long summer break. The place has been buzzing with activity today and we are all looking forward to working with both the new students and our returning second years.’

Here’s to a great year of study!
