Jobs on offer at The Grand

8th July 2022
The Grand in Southport

The Grand in Southport is inviting talented people to join this exciting new business, and enjoy some of the best training in the region.

The beautiful Grade II Listed building on Lord Street will provide visitors with a luxurious, five-star experience when it opens its doors on Friday, 15th July.

When fully operational it will also create 60 new jobs with the chance to learn from some of the very best in the business.

General Manager Eimear McElroy, who boasts more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, worked as General Manager for Ubiquitous Chip for 10 years. She has also worked as an Operations Manager for Scotsman Hospitality in Glasgow.

The Grand Brasserie food operation will be headed by award-winning Executive Chef Alan Wycherley.

Eimear said: “There is a hospitality skills gap in the UK at the moment, which has come about because of the Covid pandemic.

“When Covid arrived in the country and lockdowns came in, lots of people left to take up new jobs in other areas. The hospitality industry lost a lot of skills, knowledge and experience.

“That is something we can really help with, through quality training from industry experts.

“People will have the opportunity to learn in a quality, fine dining environment, learning skills which will be transferable to top class venues elsewhere in the UK and around the world.

“It is exciting as well for the new team to be part of something special here at The Grand, being here from the start as we learn and develop together.

“They will have the opportunity to shape the future of The Grand, as well as being able to develop into management positions as the venue develops.

“When I worked in Glasgow, people were coming from all over to work with us, from as far away as France, Spain, Italy – they were all hospitality professionals and had all studied at college.”

Eimear is also looking forward to developing an excellent working relationship with Southport College, which runs acclaimed Hospitality and Catering courses and has its own Clouds restaurant on site.

“There are some superb opportunities that people can enjoy through hospitality and catering, and we can support them with the training and experience that they need.

“We look forward to people coming to work with us at The Grand.”

Reservations for the Brasserie and Chloe’s Piano Bar are now available on the venue’s website, If you are interested in applying for jobs or finding out more please email The Grand at: jobs@thegrand.co.uk or visit:ukindeed.com
