‘It’s A Knockout’ Care for Claire

On 9th October the Care for Claire Team will be holding a sponsored ‘It’s A Knockout’ competition at Delamere Manor (Former home Gary Barlow). This is to raise money for our friend Claire Tomlinson who at 35 years old has been diagnosed with stage four cancer in her lungs, Kidney and brain.

Money raised will also be donated to cancer charity Maggies, (charity number SC024414) who have supported Claire and her family throughout the last few months.

Not only has Claire had this to deal with but she was recently made homeless when her tenancy agreement on her flat in London came to an end and landlords were reluctant to let out their homes to her without six months rent in advance. This has come at a cost of almost £15,000. Onto of this her parents who live in Southport are having to travel over 400 miles a week back and forth from London to Southport on a weekly basis to care for their daughter Claire.

We are looking for as many people as possible to take part in the event and would like to ask you if you would be so kind as to help us promote this day and possibly take part. We are hoping to have 24 teams of ten take part on the day. Each team member will require £50 per person to enter/£500 per team. If each person in the team asks twenty five people to all sponsor them £2 each then that will cover their entry fee. Throughout the day there will also be live bands, children entertainer, face painter and balloon modelling to entertain the children, However we are almost sure that seeing their friends and family dressing funny and getting wet will be sure to make them laugh!

For anyone else wishing to join in with the day at a more relaxed pace, later in the afternoon there will also be an Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatters themed  sit down tea party £30 per person. This will also include drinks on arrival, afternoon tea, disco, a flare and funk display, auction and a raffle. We already have some amazing prizes on offer such as signed football shirts, jewellery, a hospitality package for bolesworth international 2017, four tickets for day of winners choice including a table of four three course meal in Bolesworth bistro and many many more!

We are also looking for companies that might not be able to make the event but would want to help by sponsoring one of the games or donating a raffle prize or something for the auction.

The Care for Claire Team are happy to discuss this further if you want to contact us on careforclaire2016@gmail.com. We have also attached the website for ‘Maggies’ who work tirelessly to support people and families like Claire at such a very traumatic time.  https://www.maggiescentres.org
