Is this dangerous Hesketh Drive tree really earmarked for felling?

A dangerously leaning tree may be earmarked for felling, say hopeful Hesketh Drive residents.

Countless complaints about the leaning trunk have been sent in to the Council and now, after residents have grown tired of children swinging on it in a reckless manner, there is a possibility that it will be felled soon.

The tree has been leaning at an acute angle, obstructing part of the pavement, for some time and it has become a dangerous attraction for local children who jump up and swing from it in the hope the tree will fully collapse or snap.

This activity of course raises valid questions about parental responsibility as well as concerns for the welfare of the ‘unsupervised’ children themselves.

Local resident Nicholas Green has now said: “Enough is enough and I’m pleading with council contractors to cut it down before someone gets hurt.”
