WE are appealing for information after a burglary at a house in Skelmersdale in which sentimental items were taken.

The burglary happened sometime between 8.30am and 8.30pm on Tuesday 12 May at the house on Ashurst Gardens.

It is thought that someone gained access to the house via a door at the back of the property. The offender took over £5,000 worth of items including a Toshiba laptop, iPad Air in a black case, a black Samsung camera, Ray Ban sunglasses and a blue coloured Nine West ladies purse.

Amongst the items taken were jewellery given to the victim by their late parents and a number of irreplaceable family photographs were also on the laptop that was taken in the burglary.

PC 804 Carina Turner, from Skelmersdale Police, said: “This has been a really upsetting incident for the victim and I would urge anyone with information about the burglary or whereabouts of any of the stolen items to get in touch.

“We are especially keen to trace the jewellery which has great sentimental value for the owner and recover the laptop so that the family photographs can be returned.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 1364 of 12th May.

Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
