We have released CCTV images of a woman who we would like to speak to in connection with an assault in Leyland last year.

The assault happened at around 11.20pm on 26 March 2014 outside the Fox and Lion Pub on Towngate, Leyland.

It is thought that the victim, a man in his 40s, was punched and kicked in the face by a man and woman. The victim needed treatment for two broken teeth, a broken cheek bone and other fractured bones.

A Leyland man has been sentenced in relation to the incident. Matthew Cocklin, 31, pleaded guilty to section 20 wounding with intent and was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for two years, at Preston Crown Court on Monday 1 June 2015.

DC 2384 Dave Wainwright of Skelmersdale Police said: “I’m pleased with the sentence handed down to Cocklin but we are still keen to trace a woman who we believe may hold important information about the incident. Anyone with information about the identity of the woman should contact me on 01695 566 158.”

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555111 or online.
