British Transport Police are appealing for information after a man exposed himself to a young woman on a train travelling from Waterloo to Liverpool Central on Friday, 13 May at 6.30am.

The incident occurred as the train arrived at Liverpool Central station.

Investigating officer PC Shaun Lee said: “The victim was waiting for a train at Waterloo station when a man approached her and engaged her in conversation. When she boarded the train he sat next to her and continued to talk to her.

“As she stood to leave the train at Liverpool Central the man exposed himself to her. She quickly left the train and reported the incident to staff. The man remained on the train and left at Hunts Cross.

“This young woman was left shaken and distressed by what happened. No-one should be subjected to lewd sexual behaviour like this.”

After reviewing CCTV, officers are today issuing images of a man they want to speak to about the incident.

“The man in the images is someone who I think has information about this incident. Who is he?” added PC Lee.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 274 of 17/5. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
