Image released after man assaulted – Liverpool Central

British Transport Police (BTP) officers are appealing for information after a man was punched in the face outside a shop in Liverpool Central station.

The incident happened on Friday, 14 October at 9.50pm.

PC Rahim Ithnin said: “The victim was standing outside the shop when a man, who was with a woman, grabbed him tightly by the neck. The victim followed the man and confronted him about his actions. The man responded by punching the victim in the face.”

After reviewing CCTV, officers are today issuing an image of a man they want to speak to about the incident.

“I believe the man in the image has information about this incident. Who is he?” added PC Ithnin

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference 368 of 04/11/2016. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
