If the suit fits! Photography star teams up with resort fashion store in ‘dream collaboration’

Matthew Rycraft Photography announces first ever collaboration with Reputation Menswear to boost local trade in Southport

AN AWARD winning photographer from Southport has taken the first steps to building a huge collaboration initiative with resort businesses after teaming up with a town centre fashion store.

Matthew Rycraft, of Matthew Rycraft Photography, has spoke of his joy after confirming a brand new partnership with Reputation Menswear owner Malcolm Sykes following a chance encounter on Facebook that led to an unusual deal between the duo.

The partnership sees Matthew’s award winning wedding photography adorn the walls of the lord Street based Reputation Menswear store – because the models in the photos are all wearing Malcolm’s merchandise!

Bespoke suits, sold by Malcolm and his team, were provided for a wedding shoot at Hurlston Hall which Matthew was asked to photograph.

The shoot was held as a way of promoting the Ormskirk venue, following a huge million pound revamp, as a wedding destination.

And after Matthew shared the results of the shoot on Facebook, they immediately caught the eye of Malcolm, who after recognising his merchandise, sent Matt a message asking if he could use the shots on his stores’ walls.

A delighted Matt was only too happy to oblige – given such collaborations are something he has dreamt of since he was a teenager.

Speaking this week, Matt effused: “It may sound cliché but this is a very proud moment for me and something I have dreamed of doing since I was a teenager.

“When I was younger I used to go into stores such as Top Shop and H&M, look at the posters advertising various brands and clothing ranges and think to myself ‘I would love to have my work displayed in the same way one day.’

“And now here we are! It’s great to be able to collaborate with Reputation Menswear and as soon as Malcolm got in touch to ask if he could show off my work, I said yes!

“This all stemmed from when I uploaded the finished images to Facebook and they garnered quite a few shares! Luckily one of the people first to spot them was Malcolm!

“To be able to support and work alongside a local business is great and I hope this is the first of many similar collaborations I can do across Southport.

“Malcolm and I actually go back twenty years when Malcolm was my manager at Man To Man Menswear so it’s very poignant to come full circle and be partnering up again!

“I am incredibly passionate about the work that we do at Matthew Rycraft Photography. When I create a wedding package for a couple’s special day I am effectively giving them the most important gift of all – the memories they will look back on for a lifetime and it has to be perfect.

“It’s not even been a year since I opened a brand new photography studio at the Mews Wedding Centre in Birkdale and it’s great to see that my work is being recognized and proudly displayed by local businesses.

“It’s a very proud moment for me. I look forward to teaming up with more local business owners in the near future – watch this space!”
