Huge traffic disruption in Kew, Southport as traffic lights fail

Merseyside police has bee receiving a high number of callers reporting that the Temporary Traffic Lights at the new David Wilson Homes development on Town Lane, Southport have suffered a failure, resulting in significant congestion and traffic disruption in this area. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if at all possible.

Road closures in the area were first put in place in September 2014, with building work to construct 650 new homes beginning in November 2014.
