HRH Prince Philip passes away at Windsor Castle

The Royal Family have announced that His Royal Highness Prince Philip has passed away this morning at Windsor Castle.

A statement published by the Royal Family read: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss. Further announcements will be made in due course. “

The Duke of Edinburgh was born in Corfu, Greece in 1921, marrying the Queen in 1947, having four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was 99 years old.
