House Cleaning Tips: Turn Your Home from Messy to Spotless

    By Max Williams16th August 2023

Keeping your house clean is important. It’s great for the visual side of things (nobody wants to be surrounded by clutter), and it’s also a wonderful way to boost your mental health. When your surroundings are clear and uncluttered, your mind is clear, too, and what’s not to love about that?

So, whether you live in a two-bedroom home or a huge property, here are some easy house-cleaning tips for you to follow, or just call end of tenancy cleaning London. When all’s said and done, your home will look and feel brand-new.

    Start with Upholstery Cleaning

Firstly, you should start with upholstery cleaning. The reason for this is that it’s generally the most difficult part about cleaning a home. When the most difficult part is out of the way, it makes everything else after feel like a breeze.

When it comes to upholstery cleaning, you’re going to be focused on your furniture’s upholstery. For example, leather sofas are very important, especially if they have any stains or blemishes on them. Interestingly, though, many homeowners are now getting help with their leather and upholstery cleaning. This way, they can sit back, relax, and let professional cleaners do the job for them. After all, upholstery cleaning is typically quite difficult, so it’s nice to have this taken care of by someone else.

    Declutter

There’s more than likely a ton of clutter around your house at the moment. From old shoes to heaps of clothes on the floor, the list is potentially endless. What you need to do is declutter and decide what to do with the items. Whether you reorganise them into wardrobes, cupboards, and drawers or decide to do a charity donation, the choice is entirely yours. However, if you’re really struggling for space, it’s recommended that you donate or sell some of your belongings, especially if you don’t need or want them anymore.

    Dust and Vacuum

Next, it’s time to dust and vacuum. It doesn’t take much for dust to build up in houses. This is particularly true in big homes that have lots of open windows. So, if your desks, tables, and other household items are currently covered in dust, it’s time to grab a duster and get to work on cleaning them.

After you’ve dusted each room, you’ll then need to get your vacuum out. This is the part that everybody hates the most, but you’ve got to do it! After, your flooring will be much cleaner, and you’ll be able to walk around without having to worry about getting dust on your feet.

    Don’t Forget Your Windows

When people clean their homes, they often forget the windows. Windows can easily get covered in dirt and grime. Therefore, it’s essential that you stay on top of them, so they look spotless (just the way they’re supposed to). Otherwise, the outside of your home won’t look particularly appealing.

To clean the outside of your windows, all you need is a small bucket and a mop head. For the inside of the windows, use a microfibre cloth and glass cleaner. If doing the outside of your windows is a little too difficult for you (and you don’t want to have to use ladders), then all you need to do is call a window cleaner to come and do them for you. After, your windows will look amazing.
