Hot air balloon landing in Southport
Residents in Southport were concerned for a hot air balloon that was flying very low over houses in Southport last night (Thursday 18th September 2014).
OTS News.co.uk was inundated with calls and text messages from local residents worried about the pilot and passengers as the balloon narrowly missed row of houses in Churchtown before landing on Southport beach near Hesketh Road.
The balloon set off from Wrightington near Wigan at about 8:00pm on a journey to Southport.
The landing was cut short by the pilot who made a controlled landing in the field.
The balloon’s passengers waved to onlookers as they came into land.
