Horror smash leaves cop van on roof
Police officers have narrowly escaped serious injury after their van turned upside down after colliding with a Taxi.
The smash and roll happened on Cemetery Road just after 7pm as the officers were responding to an emergency 999 call.
The van collided with an all whites Taxi at the junction with Portland Street.
Passers by rushed to the aid of officers as they managed to escape from the wreckage.
Petrol and oil was seen pouring out of the engine bay after the smash and fire crews have been called to clear away any flammable material.
Paramedics are on scene and are treating both the police officers and Taxi driver for minor injuries.
The road is closed off while emergency services secure the scene.
