Hogfather building put up for sale after cop raid

investors are getting revved up for the sale of a church which housed a motor- cycle spares shop.

An auction, to take place next week, comes just months after a cannabis farm worth £380,000 was found inside the building.

The former Primitive Methodist Chapel on Cemetery Road, opened in 1894 and closed to worshippers in 1951. The Old Church is now up for sale with a guide price of £375,000, as the freehold property is being sold with vacant possession at SDL Auctions North West’s sale at the AJ Bell Stadium, Manchester on Thursday, October 10.

In August, a cannabis farm, as well as a deactivated rifle and two gas powered air weapons, were discovered by Merseyside Police officers inside the business part of the property. An investigation is ongoing
