HM Coastguard Southport assist woman who fell from horse

HM Coastguard Southport was paged (13:54hrs, 24 July) to assist North West Ambulance and RNLI Lifeguards at Ainsdale Beach.

A casualty had fallen from a horse before the horse fell onto them. With loss of consciousness and suspected spinal injuries the team responded with back up from Liverpool and Crosby CRT, Southport Quads and air ambulance en-route.

Once on scene it became apparent that the casualty had regained consciousness and had no obvious signs of spinal injuries.

They were taken to hospital by ambulance to be checked over and all agencies were stood down.
